There is a self published book/zine/mini comic I put out every now and then called the Acid Man Society. There could be anything in here from comics to written thoughts, paintings or diagrams that I create. I'm always playing around with cover ideas and lettering designs for the title. Here are a few recent items. I am at issue No.29 so far in my AM series.

IN STEREO
All right kiddies. Free Inside!
.....or rather Free inside your mind. Because today in the Nakfactorium we have some 3D eye boggling to do. No special glasses are required. Just simple cross-eyed concentration. It's easy!
Here's how to do it.
1. Click beside the image to get a larger view.
2. Place your finger between the images.
3. Slowly move your finger towards you while keeping a focus on your finger. A third image will slowly grow between the two images.
4. When this middle image is the same size as the other two, stop moving your finger towards you.
5. Remember to keep your focus on that distance where you finger is and do not change your focus to the image behind it.
6. Move your hand quickly away (don't change your focus ) and that middle image will become three-dimensionally clear!
Here are three to get you going. Write me for more!

Organic Solids
As with an earlier post with a picture titled Table Space, this top image started off with a vision that I just had to jump on. It's a strange feeling because sometimes you don't have the whole picture just the beginning of it. You know how it is supposed to start then once you get going, once you connect spirit to action or idea to paper (or computer in this instance) the rest just spills out. Kind of like a fragment of a dream that you barely remember but once you start thinking about it......
So in this instance this 'vision' was simply three bars... three vertical rectangles, which soon turned to six and then really the rest is a bit of a blur and before I knew it it was finished. Sure I can go into variations at this point, have different borders, redeligate the surrounding space dimensions, but the main engine is all there.
When I had the vision at first it was like having three notes to a familiar song, "yeah I can name that tune", and then you start singing and let it go. The New Music theme was there as soon as I put those black keys in and then the title was there right at that moment because you don't have 5 black keys in a row on a piano or keyboard, so this whole idea of playing the notes between the notes and the sounds that are made in between those notes are what really then informed the process.

Self Promo Mojo Universo
I'm sure one can see by now that I work in a variety of media and genres. This NakUniverse flyer I recently made reflects this as well as addresses some of my blogger activities for all to check out. I'm a bit out of focus, I always have been, but I don't want to wear glasses. It's rather fun to have the blurryness and etherial abstractness of connecting the dots. Maybe one day when I grow up I will define my real self?....... or is this just a delusion on my part, and really, I will always be multi dimensional?
Below are three headers from my blogs that reflect areas of interests and my activity. You can check out the links to these in the top left corner.
I currently have some paintings hanging up at a restaurant here in Winnipeg and here was my e-vite image.

GOD WHISTLE
I was listening to one of my favorite programs on CBC radio called Wire Tap with Jonathan Goldstein. This episode was called the God Whistle, where his friend had come across a box of poorly manufactured whistles that were missing the ball inside them, so he came op with the idea of selling them as silent God Whistles. An idea I wish I had thought of! But at any rate I was compelled to create an old style comic book novelty ad.

Six Toes
I wanted to give my daughter a copy of the Chrysalids for her birthday. When I found one at the used book store I thought it had the most improper cover, which was Illustrated with an alien. She would never read it with that on it. So, I had an hour and a half to design, print, cut and fit it onto the book. I've been meaning to re-read this book as I remember it being one of my favorites in school, but suddenly I had to quickly pull out vague remembrances for me to illustrate. I loved the old orange spine so I used that as my start.
Just a couple of fun quick 3 inch button designs I did for myself.

The publication is called the Winnipeg Book Of The UNDEAD. Find Nyco on Facebook for all the scoop and where to get it.

Thought Balloon...mmm Chocolate
I posted this already on my Visual Chew blog, but since it's new work, here it is. But it's not really new work because it's not MY original design. I was eating them when I was a kid. I just recreated the design so that I could have some of the wrappers as I couldn't find any originals out there. If anyone has any, I will trade you a fake complete bar as shown above.

Table Space
Every day I have a billion things to do....or is it that I have a billion things to do and I just do as much of it as I can every day? Anyway, I was reading the morning paper and I came across an image which somehow grabbed me and made me look and look again. The squares, the color, the divisions...I saw beautiful geometric form, and thought I needed to explore this and create a piece of art.
Normally I would have torn out the image and kept it on my desk and put it on my list of things to do. Then eventually it may have turned out to be not so important to do as I have so many other apparently important things to get done. And Like a dream that was relevant and fantastic when you first woke up and eventually fades into nothing as you go through your day. But this time, I said, "Look Robert, you know it's not going to take you long to do it in Illustrator, so just do it now! Besides, you've been procrastinating on your real work all week now anyways, so here's your spot." That's what I said. And this is what turned out. (above) I was pretty excited about it. Hope you like it too.
The exchange district in Winnipeg gets flooded with posters in July during The Winnipeg Fringe Festival and with all the people walking around the streets what better time to make a poster to show people where to shop for some cool novelty items. Ta Da!
Here is a Bag Topper package design for an educational model that shows the proportional distance of the Earth, Moon and Sun in a manner that puts you in awe of this mechanical universe and your place in it.

PICTURETTES™
PICTURE CIGARETTES HAVE ARRIVED
As part of my ongoing exploration of finding out-of-the-ordinary packages to serve as a vehicle for my art, (see Nakfactorium for others) existing or otherwise, here is one that will serve me well for years to come. As I have various genres and styles of work that I do, I will get to design different packages for each!
I have always thought that it would be neat to do this with other artists work. So hey, if there are any artists out there who would like a custom made package to house your art as the ciggies, drop me a line to discuss. There are 6 rolled images in each pack or they can be all the same image. You can get one or ten or more packs made.

Unlocking the Secrets of the Universe
Sometimes I just make stuff. Well, a lot of the times I just make stuff. I get shapes inside me that just have to get out, then it carries on from there in a surreal stream on consciousness sort of way. I paint this way too, so really I'm not that surprised that I would do digital work in this manner. Unlocked is one of these works.
Sunshine on my shoulders?
Often when I'm doing digital work, it is very easy to get sidetracked and you get offshoots that turn into something..... When I was doing the poster design below there were a few rocket vectors taking off. Being a genuine space cadet myself I'm not exactly sure what this thing is, but it looks cool and it like a scientific diagram for some cosmic event.
Below is a poster I did for a site specific work of mine for the Brandon Folk Festival. I had the poster on one tree and 45 yards away on another tree I had a yellow disk at the proper scale size. It showed a real Earth Sun perspective that you can't get in textbooks and it really put you out in space.
